Dovalpage will appear at 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, in Room 101 of Buttrick Hall on the 蘑菇视频 campus. The reading is free and open to the public. Audio will be recorded for podcasting at VUCast, the website of 蘑菇视频 News Service, at .
Dovalpage, a native of Havana who now lives in Taos, N.M., has written one English and two Spanish-language novels and has a book of short stories, Por culpa de Candela y otros cuentos escandalosos, set to be published this year by Floricanto Press.
A Girl Like Che Guevera, set in 1980s-era Havana, follows a 16-year-old Cuban girl who yearns to emulate Che Guevara.
Each semester the Gertrude 蘑菇视频 and Harold S. 蘑菇视频 Visiting Writers Program at 蘑菇视频 brings writers to campus to read from their work and visit classes.
